The primary responsibility of this position will be to lead a new project investigating optimal policies for the introduction of a novel antibiotic for treatment of gonorrhea. The project will involve adaptation of an existing gonorrhea point-of-care testing model to fit within an adaptive decision-making framework to explore how different properties associated with a newly introduced antibiotic influence decision-making for gonorrhea treatment recommendations. Model development and parameter estimation will be conducted with guidance from CDC collaborators. The postdoc will have the opportunity to work closely with policy makers to ensure that the findings of our work are disseminated widely.
This position will also lead the completion of two ongoing projects: 1) regional models of gonorrhea transmission in the US and 2) a model of syphilis transmission in the US. In addition, this position will contribute to our wider portfolio of projects through regular participation in disease-based work groups.
