Modeling Enhanced Domestic TB Control Interventions at the Local, State and National Levels

Working with other NEEMA-funded modelling groups, we will develop a set of novel and improved TB control interventions standardized to be comparable across collaborating TB modelling groups and examine the impact of these interventions for a set of mutually-agreed outcomes. Interventions may include: TB vaccine, gold standard/high performing LTBI diagnostic tests, enhanced contact investigation, active case finding in high-priority groups.  This analysis will be implemented using our existing dynamic TB transmission model, adapted as needed to allow the new interventions to be examined. The major data sources for this analysis will be estimates of the cost, effect sizes and implementation characteristics associated with the policy scenarios.

Primary Goal: To provide projections of the impact of a suite of novel and improved TB control interventions on TB costs and outcomes in the US.
